A cavity nesting bird that readily uses multi-roomed housing provided by humans. Very specific requirements to move in. Likes habitat near fresh water.

Diet consists of primarily insects including: beetles, flies, dragonflies, damselflies, leafhoppers, grasshoppers, crickets, butterflies, moths, wasps, bees, caddisflies, spiders, cicadas, termites, and mayflies.
