Black Horse Fly (Tabanus atratus)

CENTRAL FLORIDA CRITTER OF THE DAY: Black Horse Fly (Tabanus atratus)

VERY LARGE! female. Feeds on mammals. Not particularly inclined to bite humans, but should you get bit you will know it. More a pest of livestock.
