CENTRAL FLORIDA CRITTER OF THE DAY: Green Lynx Spider (1) Pregnant and (2) with egg sac (Peucetia viridans)

First photo depicts spider while pregnant and second photo depicts after laying eggs.

You can see how she slimmed down (inset). This spider does not construct a web, captures prey by grabbing it when it gets close.

Beneficial: Preys on some pest species but also preys on beneficials so is a mixed bag.
